Wave data are recorded using a Datawell Directional Waverider Mk III buoy which is owned by the University of Bangor and was deployed as part of the SEACAMS project. They have kindly agreed to the data being made freely available via this website.

The buoy was deployed on 13th August 2014, at which time the magnetic declanation at the site was -2.79° west, changing by 0.17° east per year. Wave direction is reported following the nautical convention, meaning that the direction is where the waves come from, measured clockwise from magnetic north.

The buoy was decommissioned on 19 December 2016.
